Accreditations
In order to maintain and develop our own standards, Scotherbs ensure that our pack house, our crops, our corporate ethics and our daily business practices adhere to rigorous industry standards and accreditations. Scotherbs also buy only from growers audited and certified to the same high standards as ourselves to ensure that all products have full traceability and the same excellence and quality is delivered to all customers.
BRC – ‘A’ Grade Food Preparation Facility
Our 2000 square metre pack house is audited on an annual basis to British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards. As the name suggests, the standards have widely come to represent the benchmark for best practice against which many manufacturers are evaluated world wide.
GlobalGAP
All of our overseas suppliers are certified by GlobalGAP (formerly known as EurepGAP). GLOBALGAP serves as a practical manual for Good Agricultural Practice (G.A.P.) anywhere in the world. The basis is an equal partnership of agricultural producers and retailers who wish to adhere to efficient certification standards and procedures. GlobalGAP standards are set with the goals of reassuring consumers about how their food is produced on a farm and do this by minimising detrimental environmental impacts, reducing the use of chemical inputs and ensuring a responsible approach to worker health and safety.
Assured Produce
The objective of the Assured Produce (AP) Scheme is to address the concerns and needs of consumers, retailers, processors and growers for safe food, of good quality and at affordable prices.
Crop protocols outlined by Assured Produce are unique to the scheme and describe best existing production practice, highlighting integrated pest, disease and crop management systems for each specific crop - they are not intended to be a ‘growers’ guide’ but they do outline current commercially acceptable best practice. These documents are revised each year and all contain information on action that can be taken to minimise pesticide residues.
SEDEX
Scotherbs are members of SEDEX, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, a membership organisation for businesses committed to the continuous improvement of the ethical performance of their supply chains. Sedex enables member companies to manage efficiently the ethical and responsible practices of their global supply chains, providing a secure, robust and user friendly data exchange. Membership focuses on auditing in four main areas; Labour Standards, Health & Safety, Environment and Business Integrity
The Scotherbs growing and pack house facility are accredited by both Nature’s Choice and Field to Fork
