Natural Growth

In 1987, when consumer tastes were beginning to change, culinary trends were taking on a new shape and herbs were no longer an exotic oddity, Robert Wilson noticed a gap in the market to provide restaurants with fresh culinary herbs.

Diversifying from his career as a dairy farmer was a fairly radical move for a gentleman whose thoughts should have been more on retirement than starting again however, the gamble Robert took paid off.

In the past twenty years, the company has grown at an astonishing rate. Buoyed on by the celebrity chef boom of the 90s, the increasing health concerns of modern generations and a million Mediterranean memories, the increased use of fresh herbs in everyday life has allowed Scotherbs to become the largest grower and supplier of fresh herbs in Scotland, counting Tesco and Asda as customers.

Scotherbs have recently moved in into a brand new facility which has tripled our operational capacity. Our purpose built packhouse features state of the art equipment designed to ensure that every herb reaches the customer as fresh as can be.

Robert was also named BBC Radio 4 Farmer of the Year 2007 in the BBC Food and Farming Awards 2007.

Looking to the future, Scotherbs plan to continue pioneering the provision of fresh herbs to everyone. The business continues to employ innovative growing methods, we have invested heavily in our new premises, equipment and people and we continue to put our customers at the forefront of our vision.
